At last ,today was a very greatfull day for me to be infront of my fellow students and my Proffessors discussing more about learning events. I hope out project was clearly,not boring and understandable to everybody of you in LATINA 2009 Summer course, and if there were some mistakes I would like you to comment here in my blog also so that I can understand what were good things and what were bad things,this will help me today and even during my studies ,especially in presentation work, I need more comments so that I can improve more and more in Learning events.
Lastly I would like to thank you students and all members of staff for your cooperations during the course,which simplified the course and make it to be more interesting to me. I have alots of concepts now in Information Sciences, I will keep on studying these digital tools inorder to become a developer.

First of all I would like to say thank you all students and all members of staff in our LATINA course summer 2009.
In this course I learnt to work with different digital tools and content. I feel and hopping that I have developed my skills on the web. I know more than before on how to use digital tools and their applications, actually most of them were very new for me. I never thought it was already possible to create and share digital content so easily. It was a first time to use in my web knowledge as creater because I only used to see but without knowing how are they made. And I felt really engaged in it from the first moment. With some days of usage you can easily get adapted to them. I have seen that working completely on the web is possible, and is a reality.
I learnt to create digital contents which it means addressing to a virtual wide audience. So the real task was thinking about what I would say and how,it was a very big problem to make a fully decision on that. If you want to get understood you have to be understandable. It engaged me in a process of sharing knowledge very interesting, this was done and I got used soon after being involved with group disscusions with my fellow students.
I learnt to teach in the LATINA environment and learnt doing, I know Im not a teacher nor librarian by professional, Im still a student whom I used to listen only my teachers and answering questions back to my seat,but now I can stand infront of audience and start adressing a massage like a teacher, wow I am happy indeed. Learning by teaching. Creating a learning resource implies using all possible formats to make it good. Images, the size of the text and things like these are important to take into account for the legibility and good understanding. It also implies having teaching techniques to make it more efficient, which I did not have at all but now I feel I know more. I worked in two ways: writing the resource and presenting it, and it allowed me to learn to pass on information through the web and orally.
I had the opportunity to use the audiovisual tools and software, which were new for me because I had never worked with such kind of tools in my life. I learnt about filming and editing a video, and worked with the storytelling software, and it was very exciting. Sure Im happy than you can emergine, I could like the course to go on untill the end of summer inorder to study and develop more skills, but the time has already arranged,nothing to do!
It has also allowed me to know more about the subject of my project ,before it gave me a hard time of thinking what I should prepare for you so that you can be comfortable! and lastly decide to share ideas with my fellow student may be we can disscuss one topic because of her experience I got induced and hope to present a project. It gave me a boost to research, reading all the information available on the web and discovering good resources. Because of it I know more about the semantic search.
Last say to you before making up our lastly presentations by using some knowledges we got from LATINA, I can say that for me it was an interesting course,it updated me alot and I will teach my friends new concepts of learning and using tools when back to school,and hopping to have another chance once more to come later as a developer in LATINA and not like I came this year, thank you all for your supports.

Tips of Presentations
July 7, 2009 by latinageorgeSince yesterday we were dealing with some concepts,much on how to make a breaf,interesting and not bored presentation. This is much and more important in any Learning Event, it must include both Teachers as well as students,every one must be aware during delivering a messege to the audience, it should not just take as simple as someone can try to think about it, so during making presentation there are some rules which must be considered inorder the presentation to be clear and understood to the audience. For example we just divided a simple example presentation in 30minutes and trying to describe that atleast we must use this division ,ie 5min for just an introduction of yourself and short about the topic. 10 minutes to deliver the messege by examples on the concrete topic, then another 10minutes to give the audience to discuss and give them the all possibilities to find out and know where they can find the correct topic/subject you are trying to adress, and lastly the rest 5minutes ,is the time for the presenter to ask the audience if they have understood and got the concept of what he or she real intended to explain that topic.
Today we tried to make a simple presentations ,actually it was fine and gives experience and good practice to those who did not do before, we got both positives and negatives feedbacks and more about improvements from teachers and fellow students who acted as audience, it was fine ,I liked it.

Just started with simple Story Telling presentations. During story telling we must be carefully with; Zone of Proximal Development ,we are adviced to Feel the Feelings of the Audience, here you must Think more about their thoughts.
HOW TO EXPRESS IDEAS;
In this Century ,we can say that our world is in the form of image,because everything now must be prepared and planed(designed) imagically with the help of computers by using different programs and technics on how to use different digital tools. We saw and learnt that , Photographs,Videos and different types of Animations maight be one of the best ways to express idea.
HOW TO MANIPULATE IMAGES
Different Images can be manipulated or created by using Photo story 3 for Windows, here we can check on how we can play with pictures in different views,creating musics as well as recording and making different tracks.
Additions during producing digital stories;
can use Picasa as a storyboard tool, have to know how to import photos and making story, lastly you may use Audacity to edit sound bites.

Lastly ,Yesterday we learned different technics about Triggers, these were explained fully of practicals, we are now able to take Videos by using video camera,we know how to shot and editing videos ,how to import sounds and how to make and import musics on it, it was very interesting to use these different digital tools, I see its importance in our World of technology, now I can be able to make and explain as well as to teach my ideas to the World with video creations, inshort we need to think much on how to help each other by using the World of Information especially by using photos and videos.

This day started with presentations and explanations on how to work with wikipedia in different languages,we found that still we can search some informations which we are thinking that are useful to us, actually it can be although if we are looking the same topic in two different languages we can find that one language explains more while other tries to give short descriptions and definations on the selected topic, example I found the topic Computer Programming in English language, its well explained but in Swahili the same topic but not much explaine, I think it because of shortage of vocabularies from one language to another.

Album: Its only just a presentation, just a link from folder, when you delete it from uses still you will have your work pictures, this is quiety different from Folders which when you delete them always you automatically deleting everything from your computer. We can make public albums, green tag. Orange, passwords to others. Red tag: Restricted to some –only in Picasa.
